Hollywood families call us from both ends of the neighborhood — the flats around the Boulevard and the quieter hillside residences above. We respond around the clock with direct hospital coordination.
Hollywood spans more ground than most people think — from the hillside streets above Franklin and Beachwood Canyon down through the flats of Hollywood proper, east to Thai Town and Little Armenia, and west toward West Hollywood and the Fairfax edge. Each pocket has different logistics. The Hills are quieter but harder to reach after dark; the flats around Highland and Vine are dense with assisted-living communities, SRO buildings, and legacy apartments where our team is often called to a residence that's been home for forty years.
Hollywood is also one of LA's largest Armenian, Thai, Filipino, and Russian communities — our counselors coordinate across these traditions and provide Spanish and Armenian language support on request. The Hollywood Presbyterian corridor sees most of the hospital-based calls, with Kaiser Hollywood handling a significant share of the HMO membership.
Our team coordinates directly with the hospitals that most often serve Hollywood families — from case management to decedent affairs — so release and transfer happen without the usual delay.

The primary acute care hospital serving Hollywood, East Hollywood, Los Feliz, and Little Armenia. We coordinate directly with their decedent affairs team.
4867 Sunset Boulevard
A major Kaiser medical center on the Sunset corridor serving Hollywood and Silver Lake Kaiser members. We handle Kaiser Sunset transfers routinely.
1300 N Vermont Avenue
CHA's Hollywood campus runs under the Hollywood Presbyterian name — same facility, same coordination channel for release and transfer.
8700 Beverly Boulevard
West of Hollywood proper, Cedars serves many Hollywood families on the Fairfax side. Our team coordinates Cedars transfers daily.
Working regularly in Hollywood means we know the neighborhoods, the hospitals, the cemetery options, and how LA County logistics intersect with this part of the city.
The Hollywood Hills can be slow to reach after dark — narrow switchbacks, long canyon driveways, and limited access routes mean our response is 2–3 hours typical for hillside residences versus 1–1.5 hours for the flats. We don't rush the family or the paperwork, but we also don't leave people waiting without updates.
Hollywood Presbyterian is the center of gravity for most Hollywood hospital calls. Kaiser Sunset handles the HMO membership. For West Hollywood and the Fairfax edge, Cedars-Sinai is where many Hollywood residents end up. We cover all three regularly.
Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Santa Monica Boulevard is the iconic Hollywood choice — cremation gardens, columbarium niches, and scattering areas on-site. Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills in Burbank's southwest corner is just over the pass. For scattering, families often choose Griffith Park overlooks (coordinate with park authorities) or the Pacific at Santa Monica.
The LA County Medical Examiner is at 1104 N. Mission Rd. in Boyle Heights — 15–20 minutes from Hollywood via the 101. Sudden deaths in Hollywood route there; we coordinate pickup once released. Attended hospital deaths with physician certification don't trigger Coroner involvement.
The next step depends on where the passing happened. Here's the clearest path forward in each situation.
The hospital pronounces death and notifies their decedent affairs team. You designate us as the cremation provider — one call to (323) 282-5457 and we coordinate the release directly with the hospital. You don't need to be at the hospital when we arrive.
Call the hospice first — their nurse comes out, pronounces, and completes initial paperwork. Then call us. We arrive within 2–3 hours in most parts of Hollywood to bring your loved one into our care.
Under California law, an authorized responder must pronounce death first. Call 911 and request the non-emergency response if the passing was expected. Once paramedics or law enforcement complete their part, call us.
