Terms of Service

Plain English. No fine print.

Our commitment to how we work with your family. Effective October 2026.

About These Terms

These terms govern your use of caldirectcremation.com and the services we provide. By engaging Cal Direct Cremation for cremation services, you agree to these terms.

What's Included in Our $1,095 Service

Our all-inclusive direct cremation includes: transportation into our care (around-the-clock, no mileage fees), all required California permits and filings, Social Security notification, secure refrigeration, private individual cremation at a licensed California crematory, a standard urn, return of ashes (local hand-delivery across Los Angeles or in-state USPS Priority Mail), and 24/7 counselor support throughout.

Possible Additional Fees

Only two additional fees may apply, and both are disclosed in writing before you sign:

Optional death certificate copies are available at California state cost of $26 each with no markup.

Our Service Area

We serve all of Los Angeles County and surrounding Southern California communities. Transfers from locations outside this area may incur additional transportation costs — these are disclosed before services begin.

Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, bank transfer, and life insurance assignments. For families who need to discuss payment options, please call us — we work with families on a case-by-case basis.

Preneed Peace of Mind Plan

The Peace of Mind Plan documents your wishes and locks in today's $1,095 price for future services. No funds are prepaid or held. The plan can be modified or cancelled at any time by written notice. The locked-in price remains in effect as long as the plan is active.

Refund Policy

Deposits for at-need services may be refunded in full before the cremation permit is filed with the state. After the permit is filed, the deposit is non-refundable due to administrative costs incurred. Peace of Mind Plans may be cancelled at any time; no refund applies as no funds are held.

Our Professional Obligations

Cal Direct Cremation is a licensed California Funeral Establishment. We comply with all applicable California laws, Bureau of Funeral and Cemetery Services regulations, and professional standards. Any concerns can be directed to our office or to the California Bureau of Funeral and Cemetery Services.

Limitation of Liability

Cal Direct Cremation performs services with care and in accordance with industry standards. Our liability for any loss is limited to the amount paid for services. We are not liable for delays caused by third parties (physicians, counties, crematories) or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
